DIY inexpensive thermopile sensor mod from coherent board
28/10/2007· The coherent power board discussed previously could be a good candidate for a laser power sensor, with only the need for a resistor and a multimeter with a mV range. This board has popped up as surplus recently and I was sent one to see if it could be useful as a laser power meter. I looked up datasheets, drew circuits, and in general tried to figure out the purpose of each part.
Thermometrics Thermopile IR Sensor Applications
A theoretical limit of thermopile sensitivity will be determined when this noise is at its minimum. In this thermopile detector, Johnson noise of these many noise sources is a predominant electrical noise source. Since the device impedance for a typical thermopile detector is mainly resistive, the Johnson noise for a detector having a device

Amphenol Advanced Sensors'' thermometrics thermopile is a seriallyinterconnected array of thermocouples, each of which consists of two dissimilar materials with a large thermoelectric power and opposite thermocouples are placed across the hot and cold regions of a structure and the hot junctions are thermally isolated from the cold junctions.
An Introduction to Thermopile Detectors Sensor Technology
An Introduction to Thermopile Detectors. A thermopile detector is a passive radiation sensing voltagegenerating device. It does not emit any radiation and require cooling or bias. Dexter Research Center (DRC) provides stable, high output radiation sensing thermopile detectors covering linear dynamic range from the UV to long wave IR.

Thermopile Wikipedia
A thermopile is an electronic device that converts thermal energy into electrical energy. It is composed of several thermocouples connected usually in series or, less commonly, in a device works on the principle of the thermoelectric effect, , generating a voltage when its dissimilar metals (thermocouples) are exposed to a temperature difference.
